TOPIC: DEALING WITH SINFUL HABITS
TEXT: ROMANS 6:14 KJV
"For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace"
MESSAGE:
Another secret or key to dealing with sinful habits that we will consider in these series is:
(7) Consistently binding, rebuking and addressing the demonic spirits behind those sinful habits.*
Sinful Habits usually starts as "simple" acts that can be easily managed, but with consistency over a long period of time, demonic spirits gets involved in the acts; thereby intensifying the desire for those sinful habits and making it much more difficult to stop.
Whenever such demonic spirits exert their influence on their victims, they usually become restless and come under intense pressure until they indulge in such sinful acts.
At this stage of addiction where a demonic spirit gets involved, it will require beyond counseling and human determination or efforts to break free from such sinful habits.
It usually requires the ministration of deliverance from an Anointed Servant of God, and the individual consistently binding, rebuking and addressing those demon spirits to be free from their influence.
Whenever a person comes to a point of addiction where he/she cannot easily stop those sinful habits he/she is indulging in, then know that the person is not just dealing with a sinful habit, but also with the demonic spirits behind such addictions, which will require the Power of God to deal with.
Whenever you come to a point where you become restless and come under intense pressure to indulge in those sinful habits, then know that the demonic spirits behind those habits are exerting their influence on you to indulge in them.
If you keep silent and do nothing about it, then you can easily become overwhelmed by such sinful pressures. But if you immediately begin to pray and bind those demonic spirits in the Name of Jesus, by the Blood of Jesus and by the Word of God, you will realize that such sinful pressures will give way after a while.
You can always begin to make declarations like "I take authority in the name of Jesus and I bind and rebuke you spirits of sexual immorality, pornography, masturbation, alcoholism etc. You have no place in my life. I overcome you by the Blood of Jesus and by the Word of my testimony, for sin shall not have dominion over me, for I'm not under the law but under grace etc".
You don't have to always wait until the demonic spirits begin to exert their influence on you before you begin to bind, rebuke and address them. Learn to do so on a consistent basis until you are completely free from their influence.
But if the addiction is so overwhelming that you can't easily deal with alone, you might need to seek deliverance from an Anointed Servant of God. But even after the deliverance, you might still need to consistently keep addressing and rebuking those demonic spirits, so as to keep them at bay. SHALOM.
