People bring food in frequently at my workplace, so it is probable that if I am not eating, someone will notice. I recently attempted fasting, and folks almost found out. I broke my fast prematurely, and the next morning I ate a pancake breakfast. Later that day, one of my coworkers asked me casually if I had eaten any of the breakfast. If I had continued my fast and not eaten breakfast, he would have found out simply by asking.

Carry-in meal events are common, as is food ordered from restaurants. There is also a coworker who frequently buys a meal from Wendy's, which I believe may contain 5 items,
She generally offers me her chicken nuggets since they are too much for her.

I am not sure what to tell these people if I decide to go on a fast. If food is supplied and they inquire about it, or if the lady wishes to give me chicken nuggets, I may just respond, "This is a day when I am cutting back." However, if my supervisor orders a special dinner that is delivered to the workplace and I am unable to eat it, I may explain that I am fasting in order to avoid being disrespectful, especially if I have been fasting for a few days,
If I don't correctly break the fast, my digestive system will be overburdened with a normal meal.

Jesus urged individuals not to tell others that they were fasting. However, I am interested in fasting not only for spiritual reasons, but also for weight loss. I could simply explain to coworkers that I skip meals on occasion to lose weight in order to avoid exalting myself spiritually in their eyes, and that some days of my fast may not be particularly spiritual in nature, but rather for the purpose of weight loss. I am still interested in the spiritual benefits, to some extent.

Something that makes me uncomfortable is that in American culture, where there appears to be a lot of misunderstanding that everyone has to eat three meals a day, if people know that I am fasting or missing meals, they may assume that I have an eating disorder, which is not necessarily the case. I appear reasonably slender, and when I wear a loose T-shirt, people can't tell I have excess belly fat.

If the lady has any leftover chicken nuggets from her Wendy's dinner and I am fasting, I could inform her that I can freeze the nuggets and eat them later.

If I am not present to eat them, mother usually puts them in the fridge, where the nuggets survive two or three days. However, I'm thinking about undertaking a much longer fast, possibly while still drinking juice.

I'd also want to say that I've found it easy to succumb to the urge to break the fast after only around two days. If I can make it past three days, it kind of locks me out of most foods because breaking a three-day fast with processed food, bread, or meats is not healthy; instead, I should have some fruit or vegetables.

I could also explain to my coworkers the health benefits of fasting, such as how the body eliminates damaged cellular material during a fast. I could also explain that I'm attempting to follow nature's example, in which an animal may accumulate fat stores for migration or hibernation, and then, while not eating, its body consumes the fat reserves.
