EXHIBIT PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE
Lesson Text: Romans 12:16
BIBLE EXPOSITION:
Romans 12:16 says,
"Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited."
This verse is part of Paul’s exhortation on living out the Christian life in practical ways. The call to "live in harmony" emphasizes the importance of unity and peaceful coexistence among believers and within society. Paul addresses the attitudes that disrupt peace, such as pride, arrogance, and discrimination, and he encourages humility and inclusivity.
Peaceful coexistence is not simply the absence of conflict but an intentional effort to understand, accept, and support one another. It requires a willingness to empathize with others, embrace diversity, and avoid attitudes that create division. Living in harmony reflects Christ’s love and helps build strong, supportive communities that honor God.
Pride and conceit are significant barriers to peaceful coexistence. Cultivate humility by valuing others and being willing to listen and learn from their perspectives.
Ask yourself: Am I living in harmony with those around me? Are there relationships I need to mend to promote peaceful coexistence? Take steps today to be a peacemaker in your circles of influence.
Thank You for calling us to live in peace with one another.
Help us to exhibit humility and love in all our relationships, valuing others as You value them. Teach us to be peacemakers and to promote harmony in our families, communities, and the world.
May our lives reflect Your love and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
