Any email client can have important emails fall between the cracks, especially those that you sent and were expecting a response to but never did. Eventually, you forgot about those emails. Apple offers a simple fix for this issue, enabling you to receive responses to all of your unanswered queries in Mail.
As your personal assistant, Follow Up Suggestions helps you remember important messages and stay on top of them without making you keep track of everything or overbook your calendar with reminders. These reminders make sure nothing gets overlooked, whether it's a follow-up on a job application, a pending client proposal, or just checking in with old pals.
Mail for iPhone, iPad, and Mac running iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and macOS 13 Ventura or later is compatible with Follow Up Suggestions. The capability isn't available in the Mail app on iCloud.com because Mail employs on-device intelligence to search your sent folder for unanswered questions.

It will automatically move sent emails back to the top of your inbox if it discovers any emails with queries and the receiver hasn't replied in a few days. This gentle prod serves as a reminder to follow up on any unresolved inquiries in your sent correspondence, helping you to make sure that no crucial emails are missed.

Step 3: Make it Easier to Find Follow-UpsAdd the Follow Up mailbox to your favorites if you would like to view any sent emails that Mail thinks need a response but hasn't received one yet, regardless of how much time has passed.Go to the Mailboxes screen on iOS or iPadOS, select "Edit," check "Follow Up" (you can slide it up or down to move it in your favorites list), and then select "Done."
On macOS, click the addition (+) symbol next to Favorites after bringing up the sidebar if it isn't already visible. Choose "Follow Up" from the drop-down menu on the Add Favorite prompt, then click "OK." You can drag and drop it to a new spot in your favorites list by clicking and holding it.
Step 4: Ignore any follow-upsYou can choose to ignore reminders for unanswered emails if you're not interested in following up on them. This will prevent the reminder from showing up as a suggested follow-up.
Open the disputed email on iOS or iPadOS, hit the Reply button in the toolbar, and select "Clear Follow Up Suggestion" from the drop-down menu. As an alternative, you can hit the Clear Follow Up Suggestion button—a yellow box with a crossed-out bell—after leaving-swiping the email in mailbox view. Another option is to swipe it to the left, tap the More (•••) button, then select "Clear Follow Up Suggestion" from the drop-down menu.
On macOS, select "Ignore Follow Up" from the menu by performing a right-click or control-click on the disputed email.
Additionally, you can choose "Ignore Follow Up" from the options by selecting the email and clicking "Message" in the menu bar.
Moreover, you may swipe to remove the recommendation, just like on iOS and iPadOS. Select the disputed email, highlight it, then use two fingers to swipe it left on your trackpad and select "Ignore."
