My wife's Green Card arrived in the mail, however she is temporarily abroad for personal reasons. In a few weeks, she will be back. Her temporary I-555 is on her passport. Even though she only has a temporary I-555 with a stamp next to it, I want to make sure she has no problems returning to the US. She left the nation around the beginning of March 2024 after receiving this stamp around the end of January 2024.
I'm thinking of using courier services like FedEx, UPS, or USPS to mail her actual Green Card back to her home nation. Anyone with experience or advise in this area would be greatly appreciated.
I'm worried that the Green Card might be misplaced in transit, which would cost a whopping $600 to replace. Insurance possibilities have been mentioned to me, however I'm not sure if they cover misplaced Green Cards. Any information on this topic would be very helpful.
I'm concerned that she might encounter issues even though I've heard that she can re-enter the US with her passport that has the temporary I-555 and the accompanying stamp (issued when she initially entered the US). Her eligibility for re-entry is not fully disclosed on the temporary I-555.

Is there anyone who can offer guidance?
