The Power of Knowing the Father and the Son
9th November 20241 John 2:23, "No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also."
The important reality emphasized in 1 John 2:23 is that in order to completely know God, we must first know and acknowledge His Son, Jesus. Through Jesus, God revealed His nature, love, and salvation plan. When we accept Jesus as Lord, we enter into a relationship with both the Son and the Father, experiencing the fullness of His love and grace. In John 14:6, Jesus stated, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." "No one comes to the Father but through me." Knowing Jesus establishes a personal relationship with God. Rejecting Jesus means missing out on a personal connection with the Father, the source of life and hope.
Recognizing Jesus entails accepting His teachings, following His example, and recognizing Him as the Saviour. This relationship transforms us, allowing us to live as God's children, full of His Spirit and secure in His love. Romans 10:9 makes a promise: "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." This confession unites us with both the Father and the Son.
Heavenly Father, thank You for revealing Yourself via Jesus. Help us to acknowledge Him in whatever we do and to strengthen our connection with You. May our lives reflect the love of the Son and the glory of the Father. In Jesus' name, Amen.
