THE SPIRITUAL WELLNESS

THEME: KEEPING CHRIST IN VIEW

OCTOBER 1 TOPIC: Understanding Spiritual Wellness

TEXT: 3 John 1:2

"Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.."

Brethren.
Spiritual wellness is a crucial yet often overlooked aspect of our holistic health. Unlike physical or mental wellness, spiritual wellness transcends the tangible, touching upon the deeply personal and often profound aspects of our lives. It’s about finding meaning, purpose, and direction, guiding our decisions, and shaping our understanding of the world and our place and purpose in it. When nurtured, spiritual wellness can provide a solid foundation for overall well-being, offering a sense of peace, fulfillment, and resilience. The question therefore, that we must ask ourselves is that are we spiritually well? Am I spiritually well? And what would show that we are?

Prayer and meditation on God's Word: Both prayer and meditation on God's Word are powerful tools for connecting with your spiritual self. These practices can help clear the mind, reduce stress, and enhance emotional resilience. Meditation, in particular, is known for its ability to increase mindfulness and promote a sense of inner peace. The other one is *service to others*. Acts of kindness and service are often seen as expressions of spirituality.

Helping others can bring a sense of purpose and fulfillment, reinforcing the idea that we are all connected and that our actions have a positive impact on the world. Studies have shown that there are mental and physical health benefits to serving, like reducing depression, lowering blood pressure and lengthening your lifespan. Putting other people's needs before yours is a Godly Act and also strengthens your relationships. _For God so loved the World that He gave His only begotten Son...._ John 3:16-17.

Regards.
