Hello,
I need the right support and direction for my circumstances.
On an L1A visa, I was working in the United States. In November 2023, I lost my job. In October 2023, I obtained my Canadian citizenship, and in November 2023, I obtained my passport. On Jan. 2, 2024, I attempted to reenter the United States using a Canadian passport in order to retrieve my property. However, I was refused admission, and I recently received a Notice of Refusal of Admission/Parole into the United States document from the CBP office. Form I-160A is listed at the bottom of this document, which is addressed to CBSA. I asked an attorney. He claimed that, given the paper and the information I provided, it doesn't appear to be a major matter.
but requested that I submit a FOIA request to obtain further information. I've made one, but it looks like it will take two to six months to hear back.
I want to know if anyone has experienced this. What is this CBP-provided form I-160A? Some claim it's just a simple rejection and also support flag polling.
Can I attempt to reenter the United States as a visitor to retrieve my belongings? (I didn't have a rental home in Canada before, but I do now). I'm paying the rent on both sides, but I'm not sure when I may begin giving notice to the US apartment.
I need some clarification regarding the seriousness of this Form I160A. The best course of action after that.
Many thanks in advance!
