I need assistance from Wordpress and htaccess specialists.
My issue:
Here's my website: ***.com
Installed under the /wordpress folder is Wordpress.
1) The browser will automatically route to '***.com/wordpress' if someone types ***.com. The htaccess file is used for this, and the homepage of the website opens as usual. I want the '/wordpress' to disappear from the address bar. In other words, '***.com' alone should appear in the browser rather than '***.com/wordpress'.
How are we going to do this?
Secondly, I would like to remove '/wordpress' from the browser path for any internal links on the website. This means that rather than seeing '***.com/wordpress/services' in the address bar, users should see '***.com/services' when they request the 'Services' webpage, which is accessible from the homepage.
Currently, the browser routes to '***.com/wordpress/Services' but displays an error message whenever a user accesses the 'Services' webpage from the homepage:
This page does not function.
You were redirected too frequently by ABC.com.
Take a look at clearing your cookies.
Overly Numerous Redirects
Nevertheless, if you go to the address bar and type '***.com/Services' instead of 'wordpress', the standard 'Services' page appears automatically.
Would you kindly assist me in solving the above?
This is how my htaccess file now looks:
**IfModule mod_rewrite.c**
RewriteEngine on RewriteCond \(www.)?***.com %{HTTP_HOST}!^/wordpress/ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}! $ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI}!-f %{REQUEST_FILENAME} RewriteCond!-d
RewriteRule \(.*)$ /wordpress/$1
RewriteCond \(www.)?***.com %{HTTP_HOST}\(/)?$ wordpress/index.php $ RewriteRule [L]
\/IfModule>
