Bedtime Prayer Inspired by Genesis 2:3
Genesis 2:3 (KJV)
"And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made."
Heavenly Father,
I come before You tonight with a heart full of gratitude. Your Word says that You blessed and sanctified the seventh day because You rested from all Your work. Lord, I thank You for the gift of rest, a reminder that I do not have to carry the burdens of life alone. You have set apart times for renewal and peace, and I ask that You grant me true rest tonight—physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Father, I surrender all my worries and cares into Your hands. Every unfinished task, every concern, and every thought that tries to steal my peace—I lay them at Your feet. Just as You completed Your work and rested, help me to trust that You are completing Your perfect plan in my life. I choose to rest in Your faithfulness, knowing that You are in control.
Lord, I ask for Your forgiveness for anything I have done today that was not pleasing to You. Cleanse my heart, renew my mind, and help me walk in Your ways. If I have spoken in anger, acted in impatience, or held onto fear, I ask for Your grace to release it all. Fill me with Your peace and love as I sleep tonight.
I pray for Your divine protection over me, my family, and my loved ones. Let Your angels surround us and keep us safe through the night. I declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and no harm shall come near our dwelling. Cover us under the shadow of Your wings, and let Your presence fill my home with peace.
Lord, as I rest, refresh my body, renew my strength, and restore my soul. Let me wake up energized and ready to embrace a new day with faith and joy. I trust in Your goodness, and I thank You for Your unfailing love and mercy that are new every morning.
I praise You, I honor You, and I rest in You tonight, my God and my King.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
