In Isaiah 6:3, the seraphim call one to another, saying:

Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!”

What does it mean to repeat "holy" three times, I wonder? Is this merely a continuation of the Hebrew practice of "emphasizing" things by repeating them (usually twice)? Or does the number three have a particular significance? 2. Any other instances of this kind of threefold repetition in Isaiah or elsewhere?
